Boardgame Geek: A huge database of boardgame reviews, FAQs, variants, etc. One of the first places to look if you want information on just about any boardgame.

Brett & Board: Lots of good information on German games that also posts gaming news updates.

Luding: Another large database for German-style games.

The Games Journal: A monthly gaming e-zine.

The Game Report: A game e-zine with news updates.

The Internet Top 100 Games List: A compiled ranking of games by the readers of rec.games.board.

Discussion Groups:

rec.games.board: Usenet newsgroup for boardgames.

Spielfrieks: A Yahoo! Group for german-style boardgames.

The Westbank Gamers: A gaming group based in New Orleans, with many reviews and variant rules.

Brettspielwelt: Many german-style games online here. It's mostly in German, but there are many English speakers using it, and it's fairly easy to get help.

Java Settlers of Catan: Online version of Settlers of Catan. Play either multiplayer or vs. robots.

Designers and Publishers:

Bruno Faidutti: The designer of Citadels, Castle, and other games. Very good site with reviews of many games.

Rio Grande Games: The company that brings most of the good German games to America. And Jay Tummelson is an great person.

GMT: Their games tend more toward the traditional American-style war games, but they produce a few German style games as well.

Mayfair Games: Makers of many rail games, the american producers for the Settlers of Catan series, and a few other german style games.

Hans Im Glück: Maker of many fine German games. They make make many of the games Rio Grande imports.

Game Stores:

Pegasus Games: The local Madison store where we first started meeting.

Funagain Games: An online retailer with good descriptions and reviews of most of their games.
