SummaryOur first Saturday session of the new year. We had planned on playing a few longer games, in particular, Time Agent and Car Wars, but for some reason we never got around to them. I did bring my new toy (a digital camera), and so we have some pictures of the session here.
Can't Stop
Played ByTodd J. David S.
SummaryI was running late (um, playing an online game), and when I got to the Union Todd and David were already playing Can't Stop. I know that this is one of Todd's favorite fillers, and David enjoyed it as well. When I got there, David had already closed out the 7s, and quickly closed out two other numbers for the win.

Puerto Rico
Played ByTodd J. David S. Tim A. Joe P. Everett P.
SummaryJoe lobbied for Puerto Rico, and since everyone likes that game, there was no argument. Tim stated the game, but he had one of his infamous telephone calls, and Mike filled in for him for a while. I ended up winning my first game of Puerto Rico ever with a produce many different types of crops with factory strategy. Woo Hoo!

Funkenschlag
Played ByJoe P. Everett P. Steve M. Scott J.
SummarySeveral people had shown up by now, so we split into too groups. Joe, Steve, Scott, and I played Funkenschlag. I had finally mounted the board to a piece of cardboard and put it all in a larger box, so I no longer get frustrated about the board not fitting in the box. Scott was the only who had not played before, and he was not as impressed with it as the rest of us. Scott's complaints were that it went very slow and that nobody could catch the person in the lead (who was me). Scott's quote: "Not as fun as a rail game (like rails but without trains)."

Puerto Rico
Played ByTodd J. Joe P. Mike O. Everett P.
SummaryAfter Funkenschlag was over, we once again had enough players to split into two games. However, Tim disappeared for a while, so the Tikal game between him, Steve, and Scott never got played. The rest of us played another game of Puerto Rico. I won my second game ever using pretty much the same strategy that I did earlier in the day.

Citadelles
Played ByTodd J. Tim A. Joe P. Mike O. Everett P. Steve M. Scott J.
SummaryFor the last game of the night, we decided not to split into two groups, but instead play one large game with all of us. With the number of people we had, that limited it to Bohnanza and Citadels, and we chose Citadels. Unfortunately it was another game that Scott did not like. I must admit the game dragged on a little, with a continuing pattern of Joe either being the King or the King being the down card, so the starting player did not change much. I ended up edging out the win over Mike.
