| Summary | Students are back in town, and despite a very cold evening, we had our usual turnout. I arrived early as I have been working on designing a game and was eager to play test it with people tonight. |
| Airplane Combat Game |
| Played By | Everett P. John R. David S. |
| Summary | John and David were good enough to help me play-test a game that I am designing. I consider it to be "Crimson Skies meets German Board Games". It's designed to be a simpler, faster Crimson Skies, but with programmed movement similiar to Robo Rally. I was really pleased with my first playtest, and think that the game, in general, works. |

| Odin's Ravens |
| Played By | Bill P. Todd J. |
| Summary | Bill and Todd played a couple of two-player games waiting for more people to show up while I was playtesting. Bill's notes: "Thus begins Bill's triumphant return!" |

| Wheedle |
| Played By | Sara F. Bill P. Todd J. Joel U. |
| Summary | A few more people had showed up, so they tried Knizia's new Pit-like game, Wheedle. I don't have any notes from their playing, but considering that I heard little commotion from their table, and that the ratings were mediocre, I assume the game got a luke-warm response. |
| Winner(s) | Bill P. |
| Finish | 1-Bill P. (87) 2-Sara F. (66) 3-Joel U. (56) 4-Todd J. (16) |

| Tadsch Mahal |
| Played By | Sara F. Bill P. Todd J. Joel U. Tim A. |
| Summary | After Wheedle, Todd brought out Taj Mahal. It had been a while since this had hit the table, so Todd was the only one who had played before. It seemed to go over well, as the only note I have is that Sara wants to add it to her top 10 list. (Everett's note: So much for Bill's triumphant return.) |
| Winner(s) | Sara F. |

| Tadsch Mahal |
| Played By | Everett P. John R. David S. |
| Summary | We actually had two copies of Taj Mahal around (both John's and Todd's), so once we were through playtesting Airplane Combat Game (I've got to come up with a name for that), John, David, and I were inspired by the other table to play our own game of it. David started out with winning a lot of elephants, but around mid-game he got into two consecutive battles, one with me and one with John, that left him short of cards and struggling to catch up from there. I ended up with some nice chains, scoring 9 points for placing my last palace, and won by a large margin. |

| Gargon |
| Played By | Everett P. John R. David S. Bill P. Joel U. |
| Summary | John had about 1/2 an hour left before he had to leave, and the only filler game we had that would fit was Gargon. I like this as a quick filler. Like most quick card games, it is mostly luck dependent (winning strategy: draw zeros), but there are enough decisions to make to keep it interesting for me. For example, I chose to draw on the last turn instead of playing (I didn't think the game would end), but I probably would have beaten John if I did play. (Then again the game might have lasted another round, and then who knows what would have happened?) |
| Winner(s) | John R. |
| Finish | 1-John R. (63) 2-Everett P. (59) 3-Bill P. (50) 4-David S. (44) 5-Joel U. (40) |
| Ratings | Everett P. (8) John R. (7) David S. (7) Bill P. (8) Joel U. (4) |
| Castle
|
| Played By | David S. Bill P. Joel U. |
| Summary | A couple of people played Castle after I had left. |
| Winner(s) | Joel U. |
| Finish | 1-Joel U. 2-David S. 3-Bill P. |
| Ratings | David S. (3) Bill P. (10) Joel U. (6) |
| Clippers |
| Played By | Sara F. Todd J. Mike O. |
| Summary | Another game that I left before it was finished. Todd's notes: Sara played Australia, and was able to get 2 routes and all 4 port markers on 8 pt Australia for a whopping 64 pts. Todd notes that this game has the worst components ever developed (the microscopic port markers) and that the graphic design is not too swift either because in some areas of the board it is hard to see how many spaces for port markers are available. These figured into his final rating. [Everett's notes: I agree with Todd's comments about the poor physical design of the game, and would also include the fact that the lines for the double routes are too narrow, so that one track tends to cover up both routes. It's too bad, as it makes an otherwise good game annoying to play.] |
| Winner(s) | Sara F. |
| Finish | 1-Sara F. (185) 2-Mike O. (167) 3-Todd J. (162) |
