SummaryStudents are back and we had a great turnout. A couple of new faces showed up (Hi Eppie and Chris (although I think Chis may have shown up once before)). It was nice to have so many people as we had three games going most of the night, so you could get in a game that you liked. John also showed off his Bit Quiz and Banner for the Student Organization Fair next week. He did a great job on both, you should check them out.
Müll und Money
Played ByBill P. Joe P. Todd J. Sterling W.
Summary(Aside: My database of games stores everything under the original German name. The American name of this game is Inudstrial Waste.) We had 8 players all show up fairly early, so we started two games. Joe wanted to play Industrial Waste again, so he grabbed it, a table, and a few other players to give it a shot. I don't have any comments about the game, so I don't know how Todd got trounced so badly.

Die Händler von Genoa
Played BySara F. John R. Everett P. Joel U.
Summary(English Title: Traders of Genoa) John wanted to break in his virgin copy of Traders of Genoa, so a few of us decided to help him do so. I just don't get this game. I just have no idea of what a good strategy for this game is. It is a meaty game with a lot of decisions to make, I just don't know which ones are good. I feel like if I played this game a lot more that I could become good at it, but there's so many other games to play that this one hits the table seldom. Sara's comment about the game: "very vicious and evil."
Winner(s)John R.

Medici
Played ByEppie Josiah David S. Chris H.
SummaryWe quickly had enough people for a third game, and they picked Modern Art. Josiah liked the different types of auctions, but though it was lacking something.
Winner(s)Eppie

Odin's Ravens
Played ByEppie David S.
SummaryDavid and Eppie tried out Odin's Ravens, both for the first time. I explained the Magic Way misprint to them, but I suspect that they may have still missed something considering their score and David's comment that they only played one round. Winning by 14 on one round !?! Wow.
Winner(s)David S.
Finish1-David S. (14) 2-Eppie (3)
RatingsEppie (9) David S. (6)
Kardinal und König
Played ByBill P. John R. Joel U. Eppie
Summary(English Title: Web of Power) During the second round of games, one group broke out Web of Power for a couple of plays. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, this is one of my favorite quick games. This and Samurai. No comments for this game, but judging from the ratings everyone gave it, I'm not alone in thinking this is a good game.
Winner(s)John R.

Kardinal und König
Played ByBill P. John R. Joel U. Eppie
SummaryWeb of Power is such a quick game, they got in a second playing before the rest of us were through with our games.
Winner(s)Bill P.

Medici
Played BySara F. Everett P. David S. Mike O.
SummaryI finally got a chance to play Medici after bringing it for the last 3 weeks. During each of the three days I either had the most goods or shared the lead for most goods on three of the commodities, which gave me the win. Mike did well by having the largest ship on 2 of the three days.
Winner(s)Everett P.

Vinci: The Rise and Fall of Civilizations
Played ByTodd J. Sterling W. Josiah Chris H. Steve M.
SummarySome of us have just started a game of Vinci online, so we desided to break out the board and shake off the rust with a f2f game. Josiah's first civilization was Mining with specialization (+4 victory points for each mining territory!!), and he quickly crushed everyone else. Not bad for his first time playing.
Winner(s)Josiah
Finish1-Josiah (100) 2-Todd J. (88) 3-Sterling W. (79) 4-Chris H. (78) 5-Steve M. (61)

Kardinal und König
Played ByBill P. Sara F. Everett P. Joel U. Mike O.
SummaryI had to go to work in a half hour, so Web of Power hit the table for a third time tonight. I concentrated on cloisters (getting chains and trying to score something in most countries) and trying to block Bill from creating chains that he was trying to build. I was in the lead, until Joel made a good play on his last turn which scored him a total of 12 points for advisors, and he took the win.
Winner(s)Joel U.

Condottiere
Played ByTodd J. Sterling W. Josiah Steve M.
SummaryThis was played after I had to leave for work. I don't have any notes for it, except that there is an asterik next to Steve's rating, but I don't know what that is suppossed to mean.
