| Summary | There was a Student Organization Fair this evening, so we had decided to get a booth and introduce ourselves to some of the new students. Joel and Sara were good enough to man the booth for us, so next time you see them, thank them for that. (Thanks Joel and Sara!) John made up a really nice banner (I hope to get a picture of it for the website, and made up a neat little guess the bits quiz (Thanks John!). In case you missed it, you can see the bit quiz here. We ended up with 5 new people signing up for our mailing list, so maybe we'll se a few of them on Wednesdays. |
| Entdecker |
| Played By | Bill P. Josiah
Mike K. Jim |
| Summary | Bill's comment when we were choosing games was "I don't really like Entdecker, but I want to play it anyway." Even with such rousing support, he talked a few people into playing with him. They played most of the game with the misunderstanding that you couldn't play a fort or citadell onto an island that already had one (like Carcassonne). This meant that people had difficult taking over the large island Bill had established, and he won by a large margin. |

| Traumfabrik |
| Played By | Everett P. Sterling W. Eppie Todd J. |
| Summary | Sterling had brought this game last week, but forgot to bring the english rules. Now that we had the English rules, there were several of us who wanted to give this a try. Each player starts with three films that they are trying to complete. You complete a film by acquiring directors, stars, special effects, cameras, etc. that that particular film needs. Each of the things you need have a value from 0 to 4 stars. You acquire them in four rounds of auctions. Each player starts with 12 contracts, and use these to bid on the auctions. The winning bid is split up among the other players, insuring that those who did not win the auction will have more to bid with in the next auction. My only problem with the game is that what you are bidding on is hidden, all you know is the number of things you are bidding on. So not only don't you know if you are bidding on good or bad actors, directors, etc. you don't even know if you can use what you are bidding on. The lot you are bidding on may only haved directors when all of your director spots are filled. Once a film has all of the required components, it is completed, and scores a number of points equal to the number of stars on all of the components on the film. There are a number of bonus points, from completing the first of a type (drama, action, etc) of film, to having the best film overall, to having the worst film overall.
Todd ended up making the most valuable film in our game (Gone with the Wind, directed by Alfred Hitchcock) and won the game. Much of the enjoyment of the game comes from putting actors and directors into films that clash with their style. |

| Played By | Everett P. Mike K. Jim Mike O. |
| Game Length | 270 min. |
|---|
| Summary | Todd had brought my favorite split-the-pie game, and so eagerly taught it to Mike, Mike, and Jim. It was a close game between Jim and me for most of the game, with me scoring a lot of Doges, but ending up with a lot of penalty points. In the end, during the final scoring, Jim had first place in 4 or 5 of the districts, and pulled way ahead of the rest of the pack. |
